| - My problem wasn't so much with the property itself, although it certainly left a lot to be desired. If you want to use the kitchen, you have to go to the front desk and ask for pots, pans, dishes, toaster, etc., and lug a giant, heavy bin filled with kitchen supplies to your room. There was no AC in the bedroom, just a fan built into the wall between the front room and the bedroom, that blew AC in from the other room
Also, I do want to make it clear that the staff was fantastic. We had absolutely no complaints about them.
My main problem was that we were baited and switched, forced to go to this location when I had reserved and confirmed a room for the weekend -- far in advance -- at their other location nearer the Strip, which I had fully researched and planned our weekend around.
We didn't find out until Friday evening, when we were almost to Vegas and received a call on our cell phone, that we were not going to have a room at the location I reserved, even though I did confirm it that morning. We were in the car in an area with spotty cell service, so we had no access to maps or other information about the new location, so it was extremely difficult to figure out where we were going, when I had printed maps to the original location.
When we got there, we realized that we had been switched to a really scary area of town. It was dark and deserted down that road, and felt like a scene out of Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Then we discovered that the closest shuttle to the Strip was at the Rio, a long walk up that dark and frightening road, which we had to walk to late at night.
When I filled out the follow-up survey the hotel sent, they offered to make it up to us with a free one-night certificate, apparently in hopes that we wouldn't post a review on Yelp. Well, they never mailed it so here is our review.
