I'm not sure if they really sweeten their drinks with honey, but I guess I'll have to take their word for it. I met up with my friend here because she's from Taiwan so she can give me her honest opinion about this place. Given the large rise in tea shops in the last few months, I never know whether it is good or not.
What's the benchmark for bubble tea anyway? Their milk tea? I find that they all taste the same so when a new shop claims their Milk Tea is the best... I am not sure what differentiates them from the others.
Being my indecisive self, I ordered the 38King... which is a milk tea with lots of add ons - tapioca, noodles, grass jelly - just the works. I like variety so I thought it would be something I enjoy.
The only downside is that there seemed to be so much jelly that my drink was finished and I was left with lots of "fillers." I like the variety in their drinks... the sitting space is okay. Blue walls and white chairs.... the atmosphere was a little cold but the drink was decent.
When I first walked in - the server told me that it was buy 1 get 1 half off with their Thanksgiving deal... but when I came back 10 minutes later and placed my order.. I was charged full price for both drinks. I didn't want to argue but I definitely felt ripped off.
I think I'll try something else before I pop back in here.... there are just way too many options out there at this time.
