  • My wife & I had dinner at Beckett's Table this Sat (9/21) to celebrate our eighth wedding anniversary, and I would say we made the perfect choice to have dinner. The ambience had a great feel, as the place was pretty full with customers, well decorated, and the sound of chatter, laughter, and good cheer..., just like a family get together. The crew is very organized and right on the ball; finished plates removed quickly, water always poured (great tasting water), and courteous and friendly servers. We were attracted to Beckett's Table by the four star rating on Yelp, and also due to the menu special, as this week was Arizona Fall Restaurant Week, Sept. 21st - 29th, and participating restaurants offer three course meal for a one great price. Beckett's has an alcohol drink included. As a starter, we ordered the grilled cheese sandwich...a great tasty choice. 1st course: I ordered the roasted cauliflower & grain salad, kale, dried fall fruit; this was a unique combination of ingredients which definitely made this entre delight. The flavors were light and innovative. My wife ordered fennel & potato soup, red bartlett pear, marcona almonds; I enjoy Indian Cuisine, and this took me to India with a contemporary flavor(s)...I enjoyed this soup dearly. 2nd course: my wife ordered the tender duck confit, braised lentils, ratatouille of mushrooms, eggplant, fall squash, fig glaze; this main entrée was to die for, the Duck had a seared and crispy texture and the meat so dark and tender & tasty, complimented nicely with ratatouille of mushrooms and eggplant...I hope this entrée stays on their menu year round! I ordered the grilled scottish salmon, red quinoa & edamame salad, asian vinaigrette; Overall the plate was tasty, though the Salmon did not have a lot of flavor itself, so, I added some salt to help it..., the entree did not wow me...but it was savory due to the combination of sauces. Final course: We both ordered the apple pecan bread pudding, raisins, bourbon sauce; for both of us, it was a simple tasty dessert, no wow factor here. The bourbon sauce was a bit strong...; this dessert was not what we were expecting...although it was quite pleasant. During the meal I ordered a cocktail, the "Legend City" as it is called, named after the amusement park that was here in the Valley some 25 years ago. The drink sounded great on paper, but the bartender overwhelmed the drink with too much bourbon..., overall, the structure, people, and food is fantastic!
