  • IF YOU WANT TO MOVE HERE, DONT! This place is a MESS. I've lived in several apartments that rent was hundreds less and I enjoyed living in so much more.I do NOT recommend this apartment. When I first moved in it wasn't that bad but ever since the new company took over Solara it's been a disaster. Pros: The apartment itself is nice. I'm in a one bedroom. It's spacious, has a nice layout, and has a dishwasher. It's pet friendly and (supposedly) they're building a "bark park". The complex is super green and well kept. The office staff is hit or miss. Todd is really cool but everyone else could care less about you or your needs. Cons: All of the outlets are loose. Only about 4 in the whole apartment can even hold the wire in place. Forget charging your phone by your bed and make sure you are prepared to arrange all your furniture around which outlets actually work. We placed a work order for that and to get the doors fixed (one doesn't shut and one shuts but can be bumped open with anything more than a soft gust of air). No one ever showed up or let us know if this got approved or it. At this point, we have made due and All of this I can deal with. Here's what I can't handle: This construction is completely unorganized, unproductive, and just downright unnecessary. My door has been painted over 5 times in 3 months. I don't know if they're just experimenting or what but I did not get any sort of notice to this or agree to be a guinea pig apartment home. A few months ago they did the sidewalks. They did this right outside my door at 8 am. The water is currently off and I didn't receive any notice of either. The blinds are so flimsy inside the apartment that the only time I ever opened them 2 of the blinds fell off. I don't know if they were broken before or literally just broke because I opened it but regardless they are now broken and I won't make the mistake of opening the blinds again. Last month the were working on the roof. My and my fiancé work late nights and sleep in until late morning. I shit you not, I woke up thinking there was an earthquake they were being so loud and it was vibrating the whole apartment at like 9:30 AM. Oh but it gets better. The first half of the parking lot was torn up early December and was supposed to be done late December. It was finally filled in maybe 2 weeks ago. In this time, it got NASTY. Stagnant pools of water, dirt everywhere and on everything. We were not supposed to park on the torn up half which made parking insane. We would have to park close to the other side of the complex. Now that that had been filled in, they have torn up the other side. This conveniently happened while I was on vacation so I had no idea when I pulled my car into the now torn up dirt lot there would be large potholes everywhere in the ground. My lower back has been messed up every since my went on a roller coaster ride over them. They entered the apartment 2 times last month which feels like a complete invasion of privacy. They came on the 28th which was the day my fiancé was shipping out and even though I called and begged for them not to come because we have 2 dogs who do not appreciate strangers barging in and I was supposed to be out saying goodbye to my fiancé for a few months, no one gave me a straight answer or returned my calls. I had to stay home and make sure these people coming into my apartment didn't get teamed up on by the dogs and didn't get to say goodbye. It still hurts to write this because that was my last time to see him for months and Solara couldn't have given a single ounce of compassion. Oh yes there's more, they painted the apartment yet again, and their painter's truck parked so generously as to block me in. I ended up backing into his truck. I do not blame to painter, he was a very kind man and we quickly exchanged any info but I do blame to apartment because there is just NO organization to these plans and there is no one making sure that stuff like (working vehicles blocking in multiple cars) this can't happen. And then comes the worst part for me, because after all of this emotional and PHYSICAL strain and distress, I can not afford to break the lease to this hell hole. They require 90 day notice and I think 3x the lease. I am a student and I work my ass off to be able to barely afford the sky-high rent, let alone 3x it. We will be taking action against this apartment if they do not try to work out a deal with us.
