| - I have been negligent in updating my post about Carpe Diem; probably because I don't want to sound too obsessive.
We drove in on Wednesday evening (this is a 2 hour drive from CA) SPECIFICALLY for the poke bowls at Carpe Diem.
I have ordered poke at three other places in the past month of travels, and I never even finish them because the standard has been set so high by this small place at the corner of Blue Diamond and Cimmeron.
About the bowls: The mangoes are succulent, the fish is perfectly chilled, the rice is divine, but it is the sauce...oooohh the sauce, which turns great into awe inspiring. If I could write a poem to this, I would.
I adore the Macongo, my husband switches from the Criminal to the Suicide.
The cold pressed juices are among the finest in the city and are starting to be seen in other venues. Venture Capitalists should take note of the brand and product.
Before I get too commercial, I must say that it is the people who make this place so extraordinary. They could have the best food all day long but wouldn't matter if the teamwork and authenticity were not present. They love each other, they love what they do, and all that love shines through.
The experience, and the food, are what makes this worth my time.
