| - DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE.
My dad had been admitted here after a stay in the VA hospital. Now he's gone and I blame 50% Life Care, 50% VA.
I disliked this facility from the start. The staff are like zombies; they don't seem to care about anything. Never saw a nurse smile. Bring your own TV. The bed stank like urine despite being 'cleaned'. Initially he was placed in the dementia area and was kept awake by his neighbor; it took several days to get him to a 'regular' floor.
One night, he was running insanely high blood pressure (literally, emergency level), a fever, was not 'there' mentally, vomiting, and shaking uncontrollably. This had been going on for HOURS before I arrived and no doctor had attended to him, no nurse had checked anything. Eventually a nurse dragged in to take vitals. No sense of urgency. We kept insisting he needed the hospital (which is literally right behind this place). Nope. All they did was draw blood & throw BP and anti-emetics at him to bandaid it.
Eventually 24 hours later they ran a chest x-ray to see if he had pneumonia (???) Nope. So they began treating for flu because they couldn't think of anything else. What on earth?!
Every protest we made was met with radio silence or just a dumb expression from a nurse, or an "I'll call the doctor" which didn't happen until hours later.
5 days later, he went into cardiac arrest and passed on. The doctor did not even show up, and later issued a death certificate with a completely made up primary cause of death (a disease which all his records will show he has no history of ever having), and an incorrect tertiary cause of death. The doctor is now unreachable to rectify this. They also refused to release his records to my mother until we threatened with legal action.
It is very obvious something fishy is going on at this place. Due to their lack of care, I am now missing a father. Do not bring your loved ones here. Please don't.
