The owner was a very difficult man who was trying to not honor our Groupon. We had alcohol on our bill and the Groupon did not exclude alcohol. He told me it was against the NC ABC Laws to discount alcohol. While this could be the case, I was unaware of it and specifically bought the Groupon so my sister and I could have a margarita with our lunch. He said that, as customers, we should Google "NC ABC laws" before going out for dinner (he literally said that). When I said I was not trying to be difficult and that in my restaurant experience (for several years), I always understood the customer to always be right. He shouted "the customer is not always right". He then proceeded to trash talk me in Spanish to the manager (female, she was very pleasant). Little did he know that I speak Spanish! I called him out in Spanish, the argument ensued. Finally, he left and I spoke one on one with the manager and explained the situation. I also showed her other Groupons that state "Not Valid on Alcohol". She said that I was absolutely right and finally honored the Groupon. The whole ordeal was heated and probably delayed us 15-20 minutes. The food was okay, it took about 35 minutes for one combo platter to come out which is unacceptable, especially at a Mexican restaurant! I would not recommend this place.
