  • I was recently in an auto accident and used Ewing Bros at the suggestion of the Metro officer who handled the scene. After driving the car up onto the back of the truck while we were still talking to the police and hadn't had a chance to get personal belongings, the driver, Ivan, told us he didn't have time for us to do so and refused to let us onto the back of the truck for safety reasons. He then took the car wherever and filed the paperwork as "no key given" even though he had used it to get the car onto the truck and then didn't allow us access to the car. It took a week and a half of myself, my insurance agent, and the autobody shop calling before the manager returned a call about the missing key. This has still not been resolved to my knowledge but the insurance company is handling it now. An iPod and a pair of expensive sunglasses were also stolen from the car sometime between when we left it and when we were able to access it at the body shop. It's true we should have taken them out before it was towed, but between the trauma of the accident and the driver rushing the car onto the truck and pressuring us to let him leave, it's easy to forgot things that only have monetary value. I have no way to know who stole the items from the car, but losing the key seems like a good cover for being unable to leave the car locked so he could claim anyone could have just walked up and looted the unlocked car at the tow yard or body shop. Pathetic customer service and terrible employees, who, at the very least, lost the key and lied about it. If I'm in an accident again I'll just look up reviews online and find a reputable company to use. If Ewing Bros was the only tow company in town, I'd rather push it to the body shop myself.
