  • If I cut out the last 30 minutes of the trip it would be a four and a half star review. The salesman we had, Ryan Conway, was phenomenal and it is blinding how obvious that is from the reviews of Pat O'Brien that he is the man to work with. He was open to all ideas and had amazing communication. He is someone that makes car buying enjoyable instead of a trip to Audi Bedford where you leave angry and the same place that you started. The loss of a half star is the used car manager, he was very assertive and demanding to say. That was beyond what I needed at this time. I don't want to go into details right now to save time. The problem was the finance guy, O' Toole. No card so I cannot remember his name but I think it is Donald "Donnie" O' Toole. I got a old car with a lot of miles so I expected a high rate, he sure did not disappoint. I was selling a 11 year old Hummer that had remarkable low miles but was an old car and the fine people of Don Sitts still worked out excellent financing and their guy, Jason, worked very hard to get that done. The difference here is that the car I was buying is two years older than the Hummer but had almost 100k miles. We go to see him and slaps down incredibly high financing. I am not happy. He kindly says, well that is what it is. He checked one bank and that was it. So I am a researcher for a living and I went home and boom--- lower rates found quickly. Sure I took a hit on my credit twice but I found them. So he did not try all that hard. Shame really. The extended warranty, since the car is as old as dirt and I have had experience with old cars breaking down, I opted in for an extended warranty. The Hummer I sold had one that was very fair and covered most everything. The only one they offer is through GM and it is $1.3k more than my old one and covers less. The original one had a $100 deductible and for $200 more you get the disappearing deductible. So that does that mean. It means he wanted me to get the cheaper one so that I keep coming and paying the deductible to bring in money to the dealership (in my eyes using logic). $200 more means two trips and we are even and my last car was in amazing shape and I still had to bring it in three times for small things. Therefore I do not trust him and the dealership. a $7.7k car became 15k before we left. If financing went better, we would be back but while Ryan is the salesman of the year to me, I do not see us returning to Pat O'Brien. Everyone has to work together. So as I always say about cars, I will stick to Don Sitts in Cuyahoga and Sunnyside Chevy in Elyria. Everyone works hard there and you do not leave unhappy. I left very unhappy. Again, Ryan was amazing but its the other people that killed it. I had to call in today to see about cancelling the ext. warranty and I had to talk to O' Toole and again agitated sounding "okay" "okay" "okay" in his end and sounding abrupt about hearing I got a better deal elsewhere and trying to build up the GM warranty. So I am stuck paying the Huntington rates for 6 months after which I am refinanced much lower.
