  • This park is great. Just as Abdul G. said, "it is an oasis" in the middle of Uptown. I just went here yesterday for the Panther's Pride Pep Rally, great turn out and had a good time. Park was a little muddy and wet yesterday due to the recent snow/ice, but on a beautiful Spring, Summer or Fall day is just pure peace. It is right next to the BB&T Baseball field. Street parking is available and various lots and garages are nearby. Mecklenburg County also hosts or sponsors some free, local music in the park on Wednesday evenings, the Party In The Park event, and there is also a lunchtime Summer series on certain days of the week. Great place to meet. Beautiful gardening, some interesting structures and great views of the city skyline.
