| - We are on vacation, and my dad suddenly grew and abscess. Looking to avoid the ER, we saw this place was near by. The wait wasn't long, but then the doctor just really blew the severity of my dad's problem out of proportion. She wouldn't just deal with it, she said we had to rush to the hospital, that my dad had a fever of nearly 100, that he was going to need to stay overnight, that he needed IV antibiotics, and that we had better cancel the rest of our vacation so we could stay on Phoenix while he recovered.
So off we went to the emergency room. After about another hour wait, we were seen, and the doctor LAUGHED at what we had been told. They cut my dad's abscess, drained it, bandaged it, gave us a prescription and sent us on our way (he also did not have a fever).
What a joke! I don't know why the doctor at the urgent care didn't want to just help us and take care of the problem. I really suspect it's because they were closing in 30 mins, and she even made a comment about my dad having good enough insurance, that hopefully the ER cost wouldn't be "too bad". Just really disappointing.
I will say the clinic was pretty nice, clean looking, and the receptionist and the nurse who took my dad's vitals were all very friendly and easy to deal with.
Just very upset about this doctor scaring us into thinking a problem was way worse, and it ended up costing us another 4 hours of our time, after we'd already been at their facility an hour.
