| - Puh-lease. I expected way more from a 5-star, AAA 5 Diamond luxury hotel. The downstairs public areas are 4 to 5-star, whereas the rooms and everything else were more befitting of a 3.5-star hotel. Our stay was comfortable, but we weren't as wowed by it as we were by other hotels. The man who checked us in was somewhat dismissive. However, the man who checked us out was fantastic. The hotel was beautiful, but the room was a little disappointing. It can be a crapshoot here.
Pros:
-beautiful downstairs: front desk, garden exhibit, shops
-huge gym with tons of equipment
-relaxing pools
-Bellagio Fountains
-moving sidewalk and escalator takes you directly from the street to the hotel entrance
-old-school feel
-central location
Cons:
-small casino (I struck out, but others in my group were hitting it big)
-standard hotel rooms are small
-not enough plug outlets
-toiletries: shampoo & conditioner were poor quality
-no coffee maker, no laundry bags
-boring place to be, especially compared to other hotels' multiple attractions
I recommend staying at other hotels. This one was nice and comfortable on its own, but so-so and boring compared to other properties we stayed at, like Mandalay Bay. Besides, the main draw is the Bellagio Fountains, which you can view just by walking by.
