I had a great experience with Dr. Cotrill. I feel like I received a very thorough eye exam. I have a really bad prescription so he checked thoroughly for astigmatism and for signs of retinal detachment.
However I have an issue with the way they do business when it comes to collecting insurance information. I had the worst experience with the lady at the desk who appeared nice but talked in circles and gave me conflicting information from what information I received from my vision insurance carrier the day before. And she kept trying to convince me that she was giving me a BETTER deal than what my insurance carrier would've provided.
I'm so sick of this industry snaking me for money that they don't deserve. I told them I wanted glasses while they kept trying to convince me that I need contacts. They just get paid more when insurance pays for that. And then they charged me a $40 contact fitting fee when I didn't order any contacts and they don't fit you for anything. I've been wearing contacts since I was 13 years old, I put those in myself like I always do.
I walked out without buying anything from them. I just got the exam and paid the $40.
But if you do decide to go there do research with your insurance company and stand your ground with what you want to get because like all these places, they have selfish motives with the recommendations.
