| - I can't tell you how happy I was with my stay here. I want to give a special shout-out to Anna, but the service I got from everyone there was outstanding. A pleasure to interact with each and every person in the building (and the shuttle).
Gorgeous rooms with so much space (and well-laid out) that it feels like a big suites hotel. They have it set up so it feels like two rooms--living room and bedroom--with the television centered so you can watch it from either your bed or the couch. I love a bathtub, but the shower is big and nice. Great sink set-up for make-up application ;). Spotlessly clean (though Dave M is right that the smell is a bit odd).
The bed was heaven. Period. Slept like a baby and never wanted to get up. For once I didn't miss my own bed (I'm pretty picky).
Quality toiletries. Quality coffee (all the time!). Clock radio has a jack for your own mp3 player and the room has tons of places to charge your phone/laptop/tablet, including several charging stations right by the bed--why doesn't every hotel have this?! Morning breakfast was pretty good--breakfast sandwiches are an unusual and nice touch.
I know this is not a big deal to a lot of folks, but for gym rats: the fitness center is far, far better than most hotels except the ritziest, with state-of-the-art treadmills (seriously) with individual TVs and other cardio machines plus a good dumbbell selection and weight bench and it's 24 hours.
The location is perfect. Walking distance to everything in downtown, including the best restaurants, museums, shops. I didn't have a car in Madison, so I was grateful that the shuttle was nice, timely, and available and that I didn't have to walk far. There is a bus stop mere feet from the hotel--I didn't need to use it because I was there for work and everything was very close enough to walk, but good to know.
I have to go to Madison once a year and I will definitely stay here next time.
