  • We went on a Saturday night and it was a big mistake. There were so many people that we could hardly take a step in any direction. Finding a parking spot was a nightmare although we did eventually found one above ground. The underground parking was permanently full. There were security guards telling cars to leave the minute they enter the underground parking. Besides people singing Christmas songs on stage, once you walked a little further, there was no Christmas music at all, which really didn't help to create the whole Christmas atmosphere. The large Christmas tree near the clock and the stage was probably the only spot that looked good but we couldn't even get a decent picture shot because there were too many people. The stuff the booths were selling looked like they came from some garage sale and they weren't many booths anyway. We didn't try any of the food because there was a huge lineup and the crowd prevented us from getting any closer. There was no Santa nor any dress up characters walking around. There was a very tiny flimsy gingerbread house that looked a big cardboard box and I'm sure we've seen better at the malls. The Ferris wheel and the carousel looked decent but again there was a huge lineup. I also noticed that there were very few public washrooms around. I had only seen one sign out of the whole area. I am guessing that I needed to go into restaurants to find one? We were looking for a place to get the Christmas feeling and left feeling disappointed. I have seen pictures of European Christmas market before this certainly looked nothing like it although someone who had been to Europe could comment better on this. For this Christmas market, I don't think we will ever return again.
