| - Arriving for dinner at 6:30pm on a Sunday evening, I was a little bit nervous when I walked in because the dining room was empty... except for 3-4 tables with people dining alone. Then it hit me, it was the restaurant for the Westin, so it made a little more sense.
The dining room was beautiful and "loungy"... had an upscale 60's Vegas vibe.
I was a bit disappointed that the lighting wasn't more dim to make it a more elegant dining experience, but the rest of the evening made up for it.
Our server was beyond friendly and delightful. She was very attentive, but not overbearing.
The wine selection was quite nice... I didn't look at the cocktail menu specifically, but it seemed as though they had a nice variety.
We ordered the meat/cheese plate as an appetizer and it was perfect for two people.
For dinner, I had the 6oz filet and it was cooked beautifully as medium. Crispy onions on top with beautiful fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. My friend was able to have hers the way it was intended, with roasted tomatoes, which probably added to the flavor, but my tomato allergy restricted that for me. All and all it was a very tasty dish.
We shared a beautiful pot de crème for dessert and it was something that we agreed we both would have had our own because it was that good!
I imagine it's hard for a restaurant to survive in downtown Phoenix, but also being part of a hotel, makes it harder to fill up, but............. It would be a great option if you're going to a show or the theater downtown!
Also, they had a beautiful outdoor patio, which I would have loved if it weren't into the low 50's by the time I arrived.
It's hard to see from the street - the signage isn't obvious, but if you take advantage of the Westin parking lot/valet service, Province will validate your ticket!
