| - What a great addition to the neighborhood!
I came on a lazy Saturday afternoon with a friend. I really liked the layout of the restaurant. It's pretty open with a good sized patio. The restaurant was pretty empty on my visit, but it was also a Saturday in July and 112 degrees outside... not exactly the time of day most people in Phoenix are out and about.
We were quickly greeted, sat, and had our drink orders taken. I order a glass of sangria and it was the perfect light and refreshing drink for a hot summer day. And since it was happy hour, it was only $5.
To start, we split the Otro salad which has a little bit of everything, including eggs and corn nuts. I was a little wary, but since the waiter recommended it, we went with it. Excellent choice! The salad was light and flavorful, but also filing. The corn nuts added the perfect crunch and saltiness. We also ordered some guacamole to share. The guacamole was delicious and tasted really fresh. I'm pretty sure they make it to order because we asked for some changes and they were able to accommodate.
Being a big fan of Gallo Blanco, I had to try the tacos. I'm happy to report their just as good as Gallo's! And like Gallo Blano, they are also on happy hour daily from 2-6 pm. The other entrees, as well as brunch, also sounded great. The menu definitely has a lot more variety than Gallo.
If I was still living down the street, I would have made this place part of my regular rotation. Our server was great, the food was amazing, and you can't be their happy hour!
