Pages is an interesting bookstore that sets itself apart from the big-chain stores like Indigo and Chapters (aren't they owned by the same corporation?). The first time I set foot in Pages was for a poetry reading. It was an intimate venue held on the second floor, and I would suggest anyone with an open mind to check out their monthly readings.
I've browsed around the isles of pages and found the diverse selection, there were more independently published materials especially from local writers. The books are fairly priced and if you have some spare change in your pocket, I suggest taking a chance on a locally published chapbook.
Pages is definitely Calgary version of San Fran's City Lights bookstore. Lit-nerds unite!!
