  • Remnants of a Victorian past in Toronto, the Distillery District is a collection of history, with reclaimed and transformed buildings housing artists, local designers, local coffee shops and restaurants. Everything is easily contained in a cobblestone piece of history. On any given day, the site is visited by tourists, locals and wedding couples seeking to have their day immortalized against the old brick walls. Case Goods Lane houses many artists studios, with the artscapes building where the majority are concentrated. A leisure stroll around the Artscapes building will reveal jewellery designers, leather goods designers, knitters, ceramic artists, painters and other assorted crafters. Balzac Coffee and Mill Street Bakery are located on the main pedestrian artery. It's easy to spend an afternoon in the sun outside Balzac's reading your book while observing the tourists, locals and birds milling about.
