We found this place on the Yelp and decided to stay here on our road trip back from a wedding in California. We did not want to stay in the craziness of the Vegas.
The hotel has been around since the dam was build in the mid 1930's but don't let that fool ya. The rooms are not huge or spacious but very clean and well kept. It's what you would expect a hotel built in the 30's with some nice upgrades to be. The lobby is spacious and have an attached restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. There are several small giftshops in the hotel that sell trinkets, art, and jewelry. Pretty nice western stuff for the most part. The downtown Boulder area is clean and nice with Lake Mead and Hoover Dam only about 10 min away this place is a gem to stay in.
The staff is very nice and extremely helpful with suggestions and coupons for things to do in the area.
The little restaurant in the hotel had a review in Yelp under what looks like a different name that did not score so well, ignore that! When you stay there a cooked to order breakfast comes with the stay and make sure to take advantage of it! Yummy. My wife had the corned beef hash and in her words "if we lived here I would come here for breakfast just for this"
Great place to stay, a little pricy for the room, but you don't have to put up with a bunch of the extra stuff you seem to get hammered with in and around Vegas. I say at least check this place out.
