| - Five solid stars. In Scottsdale's ocean of chain restaurants and low culinary standards, this place is a shining gem.
Unlike Phoenix, mediocre restaurants can easily thrive in Scottsdale. Pick the right location and its high income citizens will drop cash at your joint for years. As a result, it's hard to find memorable dining spots that blow you away. FnB does.
The emphasis on local ingredients and even local wines and beers is fantastic. The service is top notch, in a casual and friendly way that's representative of our Arizona culture. The entire menu is unique and enticing. I didn't know what some of the ingredients were, so I asked, and received excellent, quick descriptions. The ambiance, again typical of our state, is relaxed but elegant in its own way. Charming is a good word for it.
For eating, we selected two appetizers and entrees each. The chef has not only gone out of his or her way to be as creative and unique as possible, but each one was prepared meticulously. Every bite was delicious.
