I'll add my name to the list of people who find the layout of this place to be just plain.... weird.
I don't have a problem with the retail side of the store but the seating side is just uncomfortable with a sea of tables and chairs slapped down with no real thought. The only decent part is the bar seating by the window which provides a pretty awesome place to relax and people watch on Bloor (and trust me, there's a lot of weirdos to watch near Honest Ed's).
The bar area is also confusingly huge. Lord knows why they need that much space to move around back there. It creates a weird dynamic and atmosphere... and definitely alienates the customer.
The drinks themselves are okay. You would think for the kind of emphasis they place on roasting their own beans, the espresso would be a lot better but it's only smeh. My Americano was nothing to write home about.
I respect the lack of Wifi. I was there at 9:00 am and I found the atmosphere there kind of nice (people relaxing and reading the paper) instead of everyone plugged in and shut out.
