| - I want to love this place, I really do! It's beautiful, hip, and elegant, with gorgeous photos on the walls that possess an element of style unrivaled by any other local salons. However, as much as I want to love Dolce, the reality is the experience, and my last experience was less than mediocre.
In my opinion, having your hair shampooed at a nice salon should leave you feeling like you actually had your hair shampooed. Not so here - the stylist (she did her own shampooing) barely wet my hair before she pumped some shampoo in her hand and began to wash my hair. I use the term " wash" loosely here. I could barely feel her fingers touch my scalp and she quickly swept her hand across the back of my head as if that little swipe could actually clean it! She must have been afraid to get me wet or something (I'm making excuses for her now). Obviously, I didn't go to that salon with filthy, disgusting hair. I hadn't washed it in a couple of days, but I'm assuming that's par for the course for most women and something Dolce stylists see on a daily basis. I expected a relaxing, thorough wash and nice style. I got half of one of those.
She blowdried my hair in a timely manner, and at the end actually smiled. It looked okay, but I asked for a full, round-brushed look as voluminous as possible. I got a very straight look with the only volume coming from the 60's style teasing she did on the crown at the very end.
Maybe if she was personable and tried talking to me this whole experience wouldn't have been so bad. However, she lacked in that department, as well. She didn't initiate conversation even one time and when I would start a conversation she either didn't know how to, or didn't want to join in. She didnt look angry or annoyed - it was clearly just her personality. Not the best kind of personality to have working with people, IMO.
