| - Where can I begin???
We live within walking distance of the Power location, and had ok experiences dealing with simple allergies, sinus infections.
Back in January we took our daughter (then 4) for an ear infection out of sheer convenience because they only do same day appointments. At the time my daughter was having other problems (leg pain, fatigue, fevers, etc.) They ONLY approached the ear infection because they can "only treat one thing at a time due to insurance reasons", so if I had questions about other issues, I would have to reschedule and come back another day.
They did notice some bruising on my daughter's legs, I said we had just returned from a ski trip, and I brought up the other symptoms she's been having, she kept questioning me on basically "domestic/abusive violence" issues (does anybody at home have drinking problems?, anger management issues?, is dad in the picture? who is the primary care taker of the child?, etc.) instead of just checking her platelets. Long story short, and after fearing we would be getting a visit from CPS or DES, not getting my issue resolved, and finally taking her to her pediatrician in Scottsdale, 2 weeks later we find out she has LEUKEMIA!!!!!
PLEASE just stay away from this place, there are plenty of good, competent family practices in the area who care more about patients than insurance bureaucracy bullcrap.
On a different note, I had been constantly getting referred to specialists, I am overweight, but other than that, I'm healthy, normal BP, bloodsugar, active, etc. After months and months of endocrinologist visits and everything coming up normal, he finally "releases" me with the advice to find another primary care provider. It's the obvious game of "you're fat, so you must have other health problems"
Because of their referrals I now pay super high insurance premiums which I can't get out for another 4-5 months until the year is up where I didn't visit a specialist, etc.
