| - I finally decided to eat inside Miele's for dinner this evening.
It was barely 5pm so I was the only customer. I was seated and an impersonal, no personality, waiter gave me a menu and took my drink order. He briskly handed off my iced tea and proceeded to make a few personal calls on his cell phone from the kitchen doorway. He returned and I ordered the Bruschetta for an appetizer and glass of Chardonnay. I finally decided,
Chicken Sorrentina ~
Topped with Prosciutto, Eggplant, Mozzarella & White Wine Sauce. This sounded divine and I love eggplant and prosciutto!
The waiter returned a bit prematurely with the salad and bread( a bit doughy for an Italian loaf, I expect something crustier) to accompany my Entree with no Appetizers in site yet.
The bruschetta appeared after maybe 10 minutes and that was a perfect amount of time to wait for an app. I just really didn't want to look at my salad sitting there as I worked on my starter. The bruschetta was ok, more basil would have made flavors pop more.
My entree arrived and it looked nicely presented. Layer of Melted Mozz, over sliced proscuitto and then something that looked like a grey piece of lunch meat .It actually was the eggplant ( I did ask where the eggplant was, waiter said they use the same for the Eggplant rollitina) I mentioned it tasted like breading but definitely no eggplant. This breading thing was perhaps, if even 1/8 in thick, and then there was my chicken medallions on a nest of spaghetti pasta in a tasteless white sauce but alas it was no where in the category of a white wine sauce. The chicken was bland and dry. The one good thing was the Pasta was cooked just right. As an Entree I expected a more authentic Italian tasting dish. It was more reminiscent of Coffee Shop fare for elderly customers with out of order taste buds.. Perhaps I should just stick with Miele's Take out Pizza.
Unfortunately I was sorely disappointing in my $30 meal.
