  • Heavenly Bed was more like a Purgatory Bed... Mehhhhh. So let me begin by saying that the Westin's location and the hotel lobby are both very nice. Check in was easy, as was the valet parking. There is a nice bar/restaurant in the lobby, Bill's Bar and Burger. Our king size room on the 21st floor was spacious and attractive. The view was nice of the city, stadiums and bridges. The smell of the room...Locker roomy with a distinct odor of gym socks. The windows... filthy on the outside and took away from the view. The bed...I only stay at Starwood properties because of the bed. The Heavenly Bed. Siiiiigh. It was not heavenly at all. Purgatory is putting it mildly. Definitely not like falling into billowy clouds of comfort which I am accustomed to when stay at Westins and Sheratons across the country. I am very doubtful that this was actually the true Heavenly Bed mattress and box spring. It was not soft. The pillow cases DID NOT cover the entire pillow. The down pillows had to be folded to even be semi comfortable to sleep on...making them small and kind of hard. The linens we not soft and they did not cover the foot of the bed, meaning they were not actually tucked in but 'bunched-up.' Think short-sheeted, my feet were on the fuzz-ball covered mattress pad most of the night. If this was the Heavenly Bed mattress pad it would not have been 'fuzzy.' The top sheet didn't even come halfway up my chest. There was an 'extra' sheet/blanket thing that reached probably 2 feet past the top of the comforter. The comforter was not properly placed in the duvet cover. The zipper or the dryer melted 'fabric care tag' scratched my face during the night. Yea. I know I sound overly judgmental and prissy about this bed. BUT Westin has set a standard, right??? SMH. First world problems. Such a BIG let down and bad night sleep fighting with the sheets all night long. Does Starwood offer refresher courses to their staff on bed making?? Maybe they should.
