| - When I first walked through the UNLV Student Union, I was blown away. To be fair, it was the only 'real' student union I'd ever set eyes on. It was a masterpiece compared to what CSN offered. Over time as a student here, the SU has definitely lost its fleeting sense of grandeur for me. Now, I view the SU in purely practical terms - it's where I can get something to eat or attend student organization meetings.
The first floor is where all the action is. As far as food options go, there's Taco Bell, Subway, Panda Express, Metro Pizza, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, the P.O.D. (aka 7-11) a sushi place I can't remember the name of, and a newly opened frozen yogurt shop (Yumz?). Finding a place to sit can be challenging, especially during the lunch hour over the Spring and Fall semesters. A game room (not free) and a U.S. Bank are also on the first floor. You get your Rebel card in the office right next to the bank.
Second floor is a little less crowded than the first, but usually steadily busy. All the meeting rooms and ball rooms are located here. You can find the Computer Lab here.
Third floor is a secret and no one ever goes up there. It's pretty dead and houses student government offices, student union event services, and the SORCE room. SORCE is a gem for student organizations because it's filled with craft supplies for all your poster making dreams. Computers are available for printing. Totally free too. All you have to do is show your Rebel card and tell 'em which org. you belong to.
