| - First and foremost I have to admit that I am a huge Publix fan but I really wanted to give Lidl a try and the benefit of the doubt but after my initial visits, there is no comparison.
The first things you notice about Lidl is the shape of the store and the glass windows, very interesting. When you walk in you'll notice the bakery is front and center, well almost and then you realize that layout is very unfamiliar when compared with grocery chains in the United States. I took my time browsing the aisles and looking at products I've never heard of before but brought some of them just to try out.
The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of products you're getting. I wasn't pleased btw with the quality of the products
While browsing the store, the one major issue I took great exception with was the lack of customer service, no one to help me, no one to answer questions...no one to, well you get the point. As I stated in the beginning, I'm a huge Publix's fan and Lidl doesn't come close to a friendly customer service experience.
Finally, be sure to bring your own shopping bags, otherwise you have to pay for them, which I assume is to help keep costs down. In closing, I really did want to like this place but with the lack of quality groceries, horrible customer service and the inconvenience of remembering to bring your own bags, I will not be going back. I love the idea and yes, the area needs more competition but Lidl doesn't step it's game up.
