| - About a month ago, Dion L. & I attended the "friends & family" pre-opening event & got to sample quite a bit from the menu...I recall my favorites being the blueberry lemonade moonshine, along with the Carolina Greens salad, & the BLT sliders. I absolutely LOVE what they did to the outside patio area! Quite retro & modern at the same time. The servers were extremely friendly & knowledgable about the menu offerings. And the menu offerings are extensive! Think southern food with some twists. We had such a nice time.
Fast forward to yesterday, when Dion, Katie S. & Simone M. all decided to bowl & eat. I was very impressed with the inside! I had been inside when it was Pappas, so of course, it was do for a refresh! The "gaming equipment" was upgraded & the bar area is nicely redone. I was a bit shocked that one game (& shoes) is $9.75 for an adult.
The shoes were clean & didn't smell (yay!) & weren't tacky like you would see an older bowling alleys. I enjoyed a mix of cool tunes playing overheard - they played everything from Michael Jackson to Duran Duran.
Ok, for food we decided on the fried jalapeños & pickles, onion rings, & Carolina Greens salad. The fried jalapeños & pickles came in a "dinner plate" sized basket, along with dipping sauce. They were lightly battered (a good thing), but the batter itself was spicy! I'm not complaining, but I wasn't prepared beverage wise to contain the burn! :D The onion rings were lightly battered too, & came with the same dipping sauce. They were pretty tasty & didn't have an overpowering onion taste. They were enough to eat solo...however, the jalapeños & pickles are definitely share-worthy. Dion enjoyed her salad, but said it wasn't as good as the one we had at the friends & family event. Of course, we all had to have the blueberry lemonade moonshine drink. It's so refreshing & you barely even taste the moonshine.
Our waitress was very attentive, friendly, & kept check on us quite a bit.
For a Sunday afternoon, there were two children's birthday parties raging away...so if you're in for "adult time" only, you may want to steer clear of Saturday/Sunday mornings/afternoons. ;)
