| - Third time is NOT the charm. The first time I went to this place I got the oil done. Took them nearly 2 hours even though I was the 3rd person there. Figured it was an off day so I went in a couple of months later to get a tire. This time I went in the afternoon since morning hadn't worked out too well. Took over 3 hours and they never did call to tell me it was done though they said they would: I had to go back in myself because calling the place got no answer from an actual person. Then they couldn't find my keys. Took them nearly 20 minutes to find them.
Last time I went, I wanted to get the oil done. I should have known better when I got in line and the person at the head of it was having strong words with the clerk. Ignoring my misgivings I went ahead and got onto the list of cars waiting to be worked on. Was told it would be about 40 minutes to have my car done and ready to go. Went into the waiting area where I immediately heard a woman complaining about how she'd been there for an hour and her car hadn't been touched since it had been moved into the bay, which you could see through the window in the room. I decided to leave, grab some lunch and come back a couple of hours later.
When I came back, I had to wait for 15 minutes (and three intercom pagings) before a clerk came up to the desk. Already a bit irritated, I asked if the car was done. He went and checked. Several minutes later he came back and told me they were just now pulling it into the repair bay. He told me it would only be another 20 minutes before it was done. Honest!
I again ignored my gut feeling and, miffed, went back to the waiting room where some folks who'd arrived about 30 minutes after I originally had were surprised and dismayed to see me: They realized if my car still wasn't finished theirs certainly wasn't close. Well, after another 10 minutes of watching my car get completely ignored in the bay, I'd had it. I went back up, had a clerk multi-paged again to tell him I wanted my keys. He tried to talk me out of leaving, saying again that the guy was really getting started this time (even though I just saw the car out the window, being ignored). I told him I wasn't interested and would never be coming back to that shop. He didn't even apologize.
I won't even go to this Pep Boys to buy an air freshener now. Their idea of customer service has completely soured me on ever giving them money for anything. Walmart has better customer care policies than this place.
