| - Another one of those moments when I wish Yelp had a half-star option. Okay, so here's the scoop...
I'm a Thai fanatic. Sometimes I'll eat it 25 times in a month. I know where all the good places are, I try most Thai restaurants in most cities I live in. So when I heard that this place was supposed to be "the best Thai food in America," I put a lot of effort into checking it out. Walked 45 minutes or so, actually (with all of the awful Vegas crosswalks).
The place is in a dumpy strip mall past a gay sex club and an Indian restaurant. Boo-yah. Servers weren't particularly friendly, and while the place was huge, it wasn't particularly... aesthetically pleasing. A bit old-school.
We ordered from a rather stoic waitress, and our food arrived quickly. It was really good. Delicious, even. But at the end of the day, it didn't unseat MY nomination for the best Thai food in America... Spicy BBQ Restaurant in Hollywood, CA. And there, the server (Kay) is an absolute sweetheart.
Four stars, for REALLY good food in a meh setting with meh service.
