| - I think a solid 3 stars is a good way to explain and the reason is because there were really great things and really horrible things.
First, we were starving when we pulled in here. Like so fricken hungry we ordered a ton of food lol. So we got the calamari and it was the worst calamari, maybe even the worst seafood, I have ever had. Now, being a seafood place you would think this wouldn't happen. It was sooooo over cooked that it tasted like a rubber band. Then I got a side salad and my husband got a bowl of clam chowder. Salad was great, fresh and the peppercorn dressing was extremely tasty. My husbands chowder....the best soup I have ever had! It was creamy and had a ton of clams in it. I mean it, the best clam chowder by far I have ever had! So at this point we were confused. So I got an Italian style pizza with spicy sausage which, I have to say wasn't bad. The sausage had a kick and it was a crispy crust. The sauce lacked a little, prob just tomatoes. My husband got their famous hot lobster roll and, just like everything else, was enormous and it was pretty good. Roll was buttery and the lobster was cooked well.
The service wasn't bad, just extremely slow. So I really was confused by this place so the only thing I knew what to was to give it 3 stars bc I have no idea if I would come back or not? Maybe the calamari was a mistake? I just don't know. I would come back for the soup for sure...but for a seafood place to mess up fried calamari as an appetizer...come on!
