| - this bridal store is definitely for a specific genre of people. I want to say that person is someone who exudes quite a bit of arrogance.
my mom and i stopped in here a few weeks ago just to quickly look at the selection of MOTB dresses and while we were there I figured I would peak at the veils. the woman who helped us was on the (much) older side and rather cold. I asked her about veils and she really had no direct answer about anything. she asked me if I had a dress already and I said yes and she asked to see a photo of it. when I showed her, she didn't even so much as say "how beautiful" or even just "pretty". she simply put her readers on... glared at it, took them off then asked where I got it. i told her Mark Ingram Atelier in NYC where I used to live. anyone who works in the bridal industry should know who Mark Ingram is. he literally carries the higher end dresses in the market. she asked me who the designer was whom she also wasn't familiar with. we then looked at veils and I saw a price tag on a literal plain, raw edged veil of $270! absolutely PREPOSTEROUS, which coming from me is saying something as I have been known to spend exuberant amounts of money on minuscule things. all the while this woman was treating me like some joe schmoe, she doesn't know who I am or am not and EVERYONE should be treated like they're someone. I have had ions better treatment from every other bridal shop I went to. (kleinfelds, l'fay, mark ingrahm atelier, something white, etc) this gave me much more of a jessica mcclintock / prom dress store vibe.
my mom and I then made our way towards the front to leave and encountered another younger woman, whom I am lead to believe is the manager. the woman helping us asked her if she knew who the designer of my dress was, as if I made him up. this woman didn't know who he was either. (Christos Costarellos, for the record). I said he's a Greek designer and she snapped back at me "I know Christos is a Greek name". ok... good for you?
all in all the experience left quite a bit to be desired. for a place inside of a mall that you can just walk in without an appointment you would expect a little more down to earth personalities. perhaps they just need fresher faces. also, the MOTB dresses were incredibly matronly.
Edit: a reply to the business owner:
the appointment only factor is actually... a non factor. There was literally no one else in the entire store. I was in the fitting room area and there wasn't a soul in site. I'm assuming it was you who was just sitting at a computer at the front of the store? You weren't busy whatsoever. That is a moot point but I appreciate you're attempt at a resolution.
