| - How can anyone not love Costco? No, that's a serious question. If there's anyone reading this that doesn't love Costco, please PM me so I can set you straight.
I lost my Costco virginity when I started buying energy drinks by the skid. Then I found the bulk packaged protein bars. Up until then I thought Costco was all about gimmicks and effective marketing. However from the moment I walked in, I heard the angels humming in the background, and I knew I would be coming back over, and over, and over and... you get the picture. The rest as they say is history.
But for review purposes, lets look at some facts.
-Was once called Price Club.
-Costco became the first company ever to grow from zero to $3 billion in sales in less than six years.
-Costco's closest competitor, Wal-Mart-owned Sam's Club, has two hundred more stores than Costco, yet routinely earns more than $1 billion less in revenues each year.
-Purchases made at Costco's website do not require a membership, however a 5% surcharge is added to purchases made by non-members.
-Only American Express cards, PIN-based debit cards, cash, and checks are accepted.
-Costco doesn't have a public relations department.
-The corporate jet is not used unless it is filled to capacity.
-A recent estimate puts Costco's pay at 42% higher than Walmart-owned "Sam's Club".
-The membership fee is fully refundable at any time.
-Costco is well known for its hot dog stands.
I asked that original question because I don't know anyone who wouldn't give Costco the big thumbs up!
