I gave birth to my son at fairview and while our tragic situation didn't have a happy ending the staff was exceptionally caring and helpful. We've been waiting to become pregnant with a rainbow baby so I could have my happy ending there. But since we've moved that's no longer feasible.
My sister gave birth there in 2012 for the most part it was a positive experience. Due to some complications in labor she doesn't remember much about the birth and a few minutes after but I do. The doctor who was on call (I believe it was Dr. Smith) had a horrible bedside manner. She would not answer our questions if we asked and told us we weren't the patient that my sister was. Her placenta wasn't inspected well and she had part of her placenta retained. She wasn't able to nurse due to this and was brushed off when she called the hospital when the bleeding was more than normal. She had to have surgery 3 weeks post birth.
We had one nurse we didn't like in the mother baby unit but for the most part the nurses were amazing. Can't let one spoil the experience.
