As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly blown away by my recent visit to the Roasting Company! I thought I'd walk in after my yoga class just to check it out, but ended up staying for an outstanding meal considering the quality and the price point.
A three veggie plate + cornbread is only $5. That's right, FIVE DOLLARS. I can't remember the last time I got a meal in Charlotte for $5. My most recent trip to Bojangles cost more than that.
And guys, the food was GOOD. Mashed sweet potatoes were on point, not overly sweet and greasy like some diners in town. They also had a white bean stew on special which had really good flavor and warmed me up on a cold day. The King of the Plate though was definitely the cornbread - I'd just eat a plate of that for lunch if they let me.
Really impressed that a restaurant called "Roasting Company" had so many great vegetarian options. Additional shoutout for being gluten-aware and offering lots of gluten-free options.
