| - I rarely write reviews, but I just had to write it this time so other people can benefit from my horrifying experience here. I would strongly advise to not do any business with them if you don't want your electronics to end up dead, if you want to save the money and the hassle, and don't like to be cheated. I would have given them negative stars if I could. Here is my story of what exactly happened, and you be the judge. Last week my PS3 stopped reading blu-ray discs. This means I couldn't watch any blu-ray movies or play blu-ray games. Everything else on my PS3 was working fine. This means I could turn it on, watch Netflix, play music CDs and DVDs, and play games that I downloaded on it. You could say that it was 70% functional. I took my PS3 to these guys and discussed the problem. The service technician told me that it could be a dusty disc reader, or you have a bad drive, but we will diagnose the problem and let you know about it. Next day I got a call saying that my PS3 was really dirty. We have cleaned it including the reader and it is running fine now. Happily, I paid them their service charges and took it back home, turned it on only to find out that it wasn't actually fixed. The blu-ray player still behaved the same way. So naturally I took it back because I didn't want to pay them for nothing. Within an hour I got a call saying that your reader is good, it's just that your system overheats very quickly and therefore it is having trouble reading the blu-ray discs. They will have to do a reflow of the system, but it's a 50-50 percent shot that my blu-ray will ever work. As per them since they already worked on it and that did nothing to fix the issue, they will not charge me for the reflow. I asked them if they were sure that there is nothing wrong with the reader; they were convinced that there was nothing wrong with it. I found all this reflow garbage slightly fishy, so I did some research on the internet and guess what, this is one of the most common PS3 issues, and a lot of businesses claim to fix it. There are forums after forums on it as well. The fixes range from cleaning the eye to replacing the eye or the drive. No one even remotely recommends a reflow for this issue. Also when a PS3 overheats, you will see the symptoms like red light blinking, or YLOD (Yellow Light of Death). In such scenarios a reflow is recommended. It didn't have any such symptoms. Anyhow this guy performed the reflow on my PS3, not just once but twice because as per him it didn't work the first time. After 3 days he calls me and tells me, sorry man we couldn't fix it. I said, alright I will pick it up. When I reached there to pick it up, I asked him if after the reflow all the other PS3 functions were working like they use to. He said, NO - the reflow burned the video card, nothing would work on it. This unskilled fellow RUINED my PS3 for good and left it irreparable. So here is the moral of the story:
I took my PS3 for repair to CPR Chandler, but not only they couldn't fix the actual issue but also RUINED it beyond repair. In the process I LOST $36 ($40 service -10%discount if you like them on Facebook) for nothing, I ended up with a DEAD PS3 (remember it was 70% functional), a FAKE apology (with no regrets), LOST money on gas (made 3 round trips to their shop), and left with a feeling of being CHEATED.
Please save yourself the hassle and learn from my experience and take your business elsewhere. This place is just unethical and totally unprofessional.
