| - This is not the nicest Westin that I have stayed in. This Westin seems like it could use some updating - I bet 10 years ago this was a great place, but the beds seem to have lost some of their "heaven", the carpets look a little worn, and the room just didn't feel as nice as the Westin we were at the previous weekend. The main thing is that this hotel is enormous, with two 34 flight towers and it seems to lack the intimacy and personal touch of other Westins that I have stayed in.
The absolute best thing about this hotel is the location. We were able to walk everywhere - Hockey Hall of Fame, Rogers Centre, Kensington Market, Chinatown, the Ontario Art Museum, etc. And because it is in such a bustling area there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
- Parking here is about $36/night. I don't know whether there are any other long term parking options in the area.
- It costs about $41 for 3 nights worth of internet service. That's correct, you must pay for 1 month's worth of service for 3 nights. The speed and reliability of the service is acceptable.
- The pool is very nice. It's heated and blocks off one lane for lap swimming. In that same area, there is a jacuzzi and a play area for the children. I love the idea of the play area, and I'm sure parents would be thrilled to have it there for their kids.
- The fitness center has a good number of treadmills and elliptical machines. There is also a bike and a stairmaster. There is a large selection of free weights, workout balls, and weight machines. The selection for leg weights is lacking, but you can get a decent upper body workout with the equipment.
- I'm not at all familiar with the game of Squash, but there are courts to play.
