  • New to the NoDa area so making it a point to try out all the local bars & restaurants and so far enjoying everything. Solstice was a random visit after walking around in need of some bar food & drinks. Stopped in and just so happen the locals were having a Bar Crawl which I wished I knew about with Solstice being one of the many spots. The menu is pretty creative with the play on the different Solstice events. Decided to order the BBQ wings & the Breakfast Burger. The wings got good reviews from my bf but I was a little turned off by the burger. I ordered my burger medium, without bacon with a scrambled egg. A pet peeve of mine is a waiter/waitress who don't write down an order and when it comes out wrong you automatically think it's their fault which could be true or false. My burger came out with bacon (haven't eaten pork in over 20 years) so they took that back and it came back out well done but I didn't want to send back since it took a while for our original order to come back. As a former bartender, I have an issue with a bartender being on their cellphone when customers are around. One of the bartenders was on her phone and we wanted another round. We eventually got her attention. Overall, a 2.5 star experience for me but saw 2 ladies walk out unsatisfied because they waited a while and had reservations else where. After talking with them briefly before they left, the wait was a problem with getting a cocktail. I'll definitely come back again since I think the girls were a bit overwhelmed but being on the cellphone is unprofessional.
