Came here on a Groupon. Super stoked too because I had them bookmarked for awhile. I called ahead to put aside my order since I would be coming close to closing. They're only open Tuesday - Friday until 6, so I had to rush there after work. They had 12 flavours to choose from, so I assume it's like that every day.
I got lemon, vanilla, red velvet, marble, confetti and butter pecan. I think these could have been better if they just switched up their icing. It seems they use the same white icing for most of their cupcakes. The texture of the icing is somewhere between whipped cream and buttercream. I wasn't really a fan of it. It's very light and flavourless.
The actual cake of the vanilla was also just meh. It was very light and crumbled as you ate through it. The red velvet was a bit better than the vanilla since this actually had a cream cheese frosting. Cream cheese frosting was not bad. Marble was ok, had the same icing as the vanilla. Lemon also had the same icing but the actual cake was flavored perfectly with lemon. I didn't try the butter pecan but I'd have to say confetti was my least favourite from the 6. The sprinkles gave the cupcake a plastic taste and that white icing was just not good.
I did also purchase a red velvet cheesecake swirl bar because I'm a sucker for anything cheesecake and red velvet. Now this, this was good. I warmed it up for 12 seconds and it was gooey in the centre and crunchy on the outside. Delicious! You can defs taste the red velvet and that hint of cheesecake. It was basically the texture of a perfect brownie. It wasn't too sweet either!
I probably won't return since the hours are pretty tough to work with in the first place. However, I'm glad I finally got to try them out.
