| - Very frustrating to deal with this company. I had Internet and Prism TV in my apartment, the Internet connection was very spotty. I occasionally work from home and I am working on a masters degree, I need a reliable internet connection. The last thing I need to be worrying about is how many times I'll lose connection and have to reset the modem during a telecom.
I ended up canceling my centurylink service. I was prepared for early termination fees, etc. What I was NOT prepared for was the difficulty in actually canceling. First few attempts to call I received the following message "all circuits are busy, please try again". I stepped away from my desk at work the next day thinking I may have better luck in the morning and did manage to speak with someone. After about 20 minutes between the wait and answering all of her questions, she told me that since I have Prism TV she can't help me. Can't cancel my account, I have to talk to the Prism people, can't transfer me, her system is broken, can't give me the phone number, she doesn't have it.
So I dug around online and found a "Prism" number to call. Another 20 minute phone call of waiting and answering the same questions, and the guy says he needs to connect me to the Prism people to process return labels for the Prism equipment (so I'm still not talking to a Prism person? But he can cancel me after all?). Next I get redirected to an automatic menu with not so much as a goodbye from the guy, none of the menu options are what I need, so I picked one thinking I could get transferred again...and get a message that it's a non working number and their system hangs up on me. Unbelievable.
