Tasty tour for elementary school aged children. Lasts about an hour.
It starts with Calcie The Cow who provides tidbits of information at the very start and finish of the tour. The film portion takes up a large portion on the tour. Being a local myself, I enjoyed hearing about the history of Las Vegas. But in my opinion, it was a bit too long for the targeted demographic. 1st graders aren't known to have the longest attention span. But once they hear the words ICE CREAM, they're all ears.
The tour itself consists of a quick walk down a long hallway with vintage neon signs, old photographs and our tour guide telling us about the beginnings of the company. She was very engaging, asking the children questions to keep them interested. You can tell she's done the tour many times before.
Immaculate facility but it's not on the best side of town. I probably wouldn't have visited on my own but on this particular day, I was a chaperone for my daughter field trip. Didn't see many employees walking around the facility, just mostly machinery and animatronics. The tour concluded with a scoop of ice cream for everyone. Highlight of my daughters day.
