I worked with Poolman for 2 services. First, they did a pre-purchase inspection of a pool in a house that I ended up buying. At the time of the inspection they gave me a quote for weekly pool service. The inspection report indicated that everything in the pool was fine. I purchased the house, and hired them to do the weekly service.
As other reviews have noted, the first thing they did was send a manager to the house for a 7 minute visit. He tested the water, and told me I needed to drain the pool before service could start due to high calcium and mineral concentration.
I asked why this didn't come up in the inspection. They told me that their 21 point inspection does not include testing the pool chemistry. They wanted $135 to drain the pool for me or offered that I could drain it myself. This is in addition to the cost of the water to refill the pool. All of these expenses could have been contingent on the sale of the home had Poolman done a more thorough inspection up front.
I was, understandable disappointed. It took just a few minutes to test the water. This is an unacceptable omission in their inspection. Because of this, I chose not to use them for service.
