| - They try to make the outside look nice, but inside is 20+ years old and in dire need of renovations and repairs. I had a king sized bed, and the bed was incorrectly made. There was the fitted sheet, comforter, and then a top sheet. There is supposed to be a flat sheet between the fitted sheet and the comforter, but it wasn't there. You can't call this place a resort and have poor housekeeping skills.
The bathroom was no good. The tub had mildew along the edges, and some hard water stains that looked years old. Also, the door to the bathroom looked like there was water damage, with warping on the bottom. Looks like the bathroom flooded a while back and no one bothered to change out the door.
The armchair beside the bed was well worn. The arms of the chair were worn all the way down to the point where the fabric was paper thin.
On an earlier occasion, I took a look at the banquet facilities at this resort for my wedding. I wasn't impressed, but I really had no idea it was this bad, until I got a groupon to this hotel and saw what the room looked like. I'm so glad I decided against this place - there's no way I could let my friends and family stay here. It would reflect so poorly on me. During my stay, I didn't even bother to check out the amenities - I was too grossed out with the room that nothing else in the "resort" seemed worth checking out.
The room came with breakfast vouchers for the on-site restaurant. I had the Millennium Breakfast - eggs, potatoes o'brien, bacon, and wheat toast. Service was quick and waiter was attentive.
Generally, when staying a hotel, you get maid service every day until the day you check out, and on the date of check out, no maid comes to clean your room UNTIL AFTER you check out.
When I went back to my room before checking out, I saw that the maid had already come in there, stripped off the sheets, and moved the bed to the middle of the room. That was very strange for two reasons: 1) why is the bed moved to center of the room, and away from the wall? 2) why would the maid come into my room before I'd even checked out?
After I saw that, I went back downstairs to officially check out and I told the front desk manager what had happened. He called the housekeeping staff to ask why the room was cleaned before I had checked out. He did all this in Spanish. I listened carefully just in case he'd say something he wouldn't want me to understand (I speak Spanish). Basically, he didn't ask or say anything out of the ordinary. Just asked the cleaning staff why someone would even enter my room to clean it when I hadn't even checked out yet. I could tell the person on the other line said she'd get back to him once she talked to the rest of the housekeeping staff, so the front desk manager didn't have an immediate answer for me.
You know, ever since I left the place my skin has been itching like crazy. I wonder if there were mites or fleas. I washed all my clothes in hot water and just in case and put them in the dryer.
Just don't go here. Please.
