| - I have never in my life had Shabu Shabu or anything similar, so this was a new experience for my husband and I.
We ordered the half Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki, and we universally seemed to like the sukiyaki much better. It really depends on the type of meat ordered. For seafood, veggies, and tofu, I prefer the delicate flavors of shabu shabu, but for actual meat I thought the sukiyaki was more flavorful.
As everyone has said, everything is very fresh. I did not find the dinners to be reasonably priced, although it may be compared to other shabu shabu restaurants. I also didn't find the waygu beef to be particularly good either, and is the only reason why I am knocking them down a star rating. Even on special, the waygu beef is not worth paying for. Both the pork and the chicken are much much better. However my favorite was the seafood. If you love seafood, this place is heaven. They had oysters on special when I was there and they tasted freshly shucked and on par with some of the best oysters I've ever had. The shabu shabu enhanced the flavor, amazingly enough.
While my husband liked eating here, because he hates eating healthy I probably will not be able to get him to go back, not to mention we don't live near Henderson anymore. However, I am determined to get my mother to go as an alternative to the M Resort buffet (her favorite place to eat), as she would appreciate it much more.
