Hearthstone is the place to see and be seen in Summerlin for Sunday brunch. The restaurant has a rustic yet feminine feel to it and the servers are consistently warm. Their only downfall is the food. It's overpriced and underwhelming.
My first visit to Hearthstone was during brunch. I am a firm believer that's it's nearly impossible to ruin breakfast -- until now. My breakfast potatoes were over cooked and bland. Even drowning them in ketchup couldn't do the trick. The breakfast sandwich was decent, but I could have ordered something similar for a fraction of the cost at Kneaders. Granted, you have the same ambience that Hearthstone is known for.
My husband ordered the French toast, which sounded better than it actually tasted. I thought that maybe my husband and I just ordered the wrong items, but until our friend was disappointed with her eggs Benedict.
I figured I would give them another shot, so I stopped by for happy hour/ $1 Presidents Day pizzas. My hummus lacked flavor and the pizza sauce was too salty. They offered veggie sliders (plural), but it was actually just one lonely slider. My husband devoured his, but my tastebuds never had the pleasure enjoying it because there was only one. Even our server was shocked to see only one slider. A new set of friends joined us, but weren't impressed with the food either.
Hearthstone reminds me of a really attractive guy or girl with no substance. It's just plain disappointing!
