For all of its good reviews, my experience there was super disappointing. The food was not good and the service was extremely slow. To the point that we were questioning what is going on in that kitchen.
We went on a Tuesday night and the food took forever to arrive. The servers were also way too busy. All the servers are pleasant, so it really made me want to like this place. But we tried for at least 10 minutes to hail someone over every time we wanted to ask for something.
The food was also subpar. The "large" guac was pretty small (3 of us shared and finished in less than 3 minutes). The description said the guac had oranges and other tasty ingredients, but no one in my party could find them. The paella rice tasted like rice out of a box. And the pork in the pork tacos was really salty.
My boyfriend and I love great food and are of the opinion even if a place is not true and authentic Mexican, if there is something they do great, we would still keep coming back. We did not find that at Otro Cafe, and we probably will not be back again.
