| - For my own Battle Ramen, Sora was my last stop. My fiancé, Ruben had already visited Sora several times and raved about the Killer Spicy Miso Ramen. That sounded scary and knowing his tolerance for heat, I wasn't going to go near it. Anyway, even after taking him to Monta, he still liked Sora better, so I had to see for myself.
We visited one afternoon with his co-worker, waiting eagerly for them to open. Then, we were seated immediately. Both of them knew exactly what they wanted - Killer ramen bowls with the option for more noodles and broth. I went for a Miso Ramen. I really liked the flavor and everything about my ramen was delicious. Oh, and of course I had to try the Killer broth. It has that really deep chili flavor that lingers in the back of your throat. But wow, it was so, so tasty! I actually added a few spoonfuls of the Killer broth into my ramen! It was great.
At the end of the meal, my only problem was that I couldn't decide which ramen house I preferred (between Monta and Sora; I eliminated Fukumimi). They have different styles and I enjoyed both of them. What it came down to for me was the noodles (I prefer Monta's thick, wavy noodles), preference of Tonkotsu over Miso broth, and the availability of chili oil to control the spice level. So my favorite ramen offerings are Monta, however, I like Sora's miso broth better!
