| - If you're used to the standard Fairmont elegance, comfort, and customer service, then you'll be pleased to know The Queen Elizabeth is more of the same. However if you're used to staying at hotels which are in-and-of-themselves landmarks and architectural attractions (such as Château Frontenac and Château Laurier), then know that The Queen Elizabeth isn't that.
I stayed here for just one night during a weekend trip to Montréal. The inside of the hotel was recently renovated, and it has everything going for it: swanky decor, nice shops and restaurants, and comfortable and classy rooms. The hotel is located in the business district of Montréal, right between "Mary, Queen of the World" Cathedral and St. Patrick's Basilica. It's not far from Vieux-Montréal (just a 1 km walk), but if you were looking for something in the heart of Vieux-Montréal, look further northeast.
I didn't spend much time in the hotel, since I was out and about in Montréal, but my time at The Queen Elizabeth was nevertheless nice and comfortable. I'd recommend it if the location works for you and the price seems right.
