  • From the business travel perspective, LAS blows. It is pretty much set up like the entire remainder of the city and that is to tempt you into consensually parting your money from you. From the moment you set foot inside the secure terminal area, whether exiting a plane or clearing TSA, you will find slot machines and drinking holes galore and frantic addicts feeding at them. In Terminal 1 there are other high end shops and typical places to grab a quick bite. Unfortunately for Delta flyers, there is no Sky Club despite there being about 12 Delta gates and numerous flights in and out of here daily. I'm sure this also has to do with LAS not being a heavy business traveler destination so they don't want to lose money on offering a Sky Club to people flying on cheaper vacation fares or free mile tickets. But for true business flight warriors, this is not a great place to pass the time waiting for a flight. Speaking of waits, the lines for TSA are lengthy even for Clear or Precheck members. The reason is that there are many leisure travelers at his airport that get chosen for Precheck but they clearly have no travel experience and are totally confused by the different rules so they hold up the lines that are supposed to be short cuts. Finally, if renting a car, plan on it taking a long time to pick up and return. The rental facility is off site. Way off site. And you are jockeying for shuttle space with many leisure travelers that have no idea how renting a car works so the process both coming and going is slow and very crowded even for frequent renters with loyalty status. Speaking of crowded, there is a sign on the shuttle door that humorously states "It is recommended that all riders be seated for safety." That is not possible given that it took a crowbar and a can opener to get us all in and out of the thing. Overall, I get it. Vegas is about adult entertainment and making money. And if I was coming here to be daring I would probably love it but that is not me and so his is just not my type of airport.
